Who the Jews Are; How and Where They Live

Here is an interesting article from The Jewish Press, demonstrating again the utter foolishness of trying to make RACE a matter of importance in the times of the New Covenant. (LINK)

Once you begin to hold to the false doctrine that Christians are called to “help the Jews” live in a certain political boundary–something you can never legitimize with the New Testament, nor even with the Old Testament as the New Testament writers interpreted it–it then becomes necessary to figure out who the Jews are.

The truth is that many who consider themselves Gentiles may, in fact, have a good deal of Hebrew blood in them; whether they live in historic Palestine or not. As the article above explains, there are Muslim “Palestinians” whose families were at one time Jewish. It’s also worth saying that many who call themselves Jewish today can be traced back to Gentile lineage. Abraham himself was not a Jew!

Is a Jew someone whose mother was a Jew by blood, or someone whose father was a Jew by blood? Do both parents have to be Jews? What if only a grandparent was Jew?–Does this count? Maybe we need to consult those endless Jewish genealogies Paul talked about??? (I Tim. 1:4)

Is a Jew someone who abides by Torah and rejects the New Covenant (is such possible?), or someone who abides by the Talmud–that satanic collection of doctrines Jesus so vehemently opposed? (Assuming we could decide which of these two classes are legitimate Jews, which class should we have fellowship with as believers?–2 Cor. 6:14-15)

It can be a sticky problem trying to figure out what a Jew is! Fortunately, the New Testament writer explained it for us:

For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God. (Rom. 2:28-29)

So are real Christians “Jews”? Yes, real Christians are Jews. Some real Christians have Hebrew blood in them; some do not. Some used to follow Judaism, some used to follow Islam, and some used to be wiccans or atheists or fake Christians. All have renounced their former selves and become God’s children and the family of Jesus–

Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.”

But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.” (Mark 3:31-35)

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons [children] of God. (Rom. 8:14)

So had we better unite all the Christians to go take “the Promise land” away from the unbelievers who now live in it?–No, for the City we wait for is not earthly; it has foundations because it is built by God Himself. If we lived in Israel today, it could only be a foreign country to us. (Heb. 11:9-10) Furthermore, to try to take this land for ourselves–or for anyone else–would violate Christ’s teachings and example. Racism, covetousness, and carnal war were banished when the love of God was shed abroad in our hearts.

As born again believers, we have been lifted up from the carnal and the perishing to behold the King in His splendor sitting on the eternal throne of His glory. Raised up in the Spirit and sitting with Jesus in these heavenly places, our focus on the earth is being His ambassador to every alien of the commonwealth of God’s Israel (Eph. 2:6-13).

Some of those aliens are earthly “Jews.” Some are Palestinians. Some are Somalian, Australian or American. They war against each other for control of this or that piece of ground, always with some self-righteous justification attached. They draw false or greatly deceived Christians into their violence and carnality with them (and away from Christ.) All these remain aliens of God’s kingdom until someone preaches Jesus to them, and they repent and believe.

When they are born again, they can now see the kingdom of God for the first time. And like Paul, after they are saved, they find that their national pedigree is nothing to be gloried in. They set their mind on heavenly things, having their citizenship in heaven (Phil. 3:3-21). For now they are real Jews (regardless of their past), the Spirit has circumcised their hearts, and their praise is not from men but from God. As such, they are servants and debtors to every man that breathes, bound to consider others better than themselves. The ex-Judaizer and the ex-Muslim dwell together in unity, working together to reach the Somalian, the Australian, and the American. Their weapons are no longer carnal, and their lives are no longer dear to themselves. They joyfully accept the plundering of their earthly goods knowing that God has chosen the poor in this life to be rich in the next (Heb. 10:34; James 2:5).

Oh, kingdom of the True Jews, ruled by your matchless King Jesus! A City which has foundations, surrounded by holy fire and covered by a protective cloud. A City without carnal walls, guarded by the One who never sleeps. How great PEACE have they which continually dwell within you! How precious is the blood that redeemed you, and the Word that lives in you. How greatly your enemies–men from every nation on earth–fight against you and your King. How greatly false Christians and false Jews twist and undermine the truth about you. But you shall overcome. Praise Jesus!
